V-2 Fact List

1) There were 67 V-2's lauched from White Sands Proving Grounds (WSPG) or as it is referred to today as Whtie Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in New Mexico.
2) There were 2 V-2's launched from the Joint Long Range Proving Grounds (JLRPG) or as it is referred to today as "Cape Canaveral" in Florida.
3) There was 1 V-2 launched off of the USS Midway in an operation called "Sandy."
4) The launches at White Sands began April 16, 1946 and ended September 19, 1952.
5) The launches at JLRPG began July 24, 1950 and ended July 29, 1950.
6) Operation Sandy took place on September 6, 1946.
7) V-2 No. 1: First firing, static test for 57 seconds; March 15, 1946
8) V-2 No. 2: First flight test, altitude 18,000 feet; April 16, 1946
9) V-2 No. 3: First high altitude flight, altitude 70 miles; May 10, 1946
